Brendan Sullivan – Founder, PT, DPT, MSCS, CSCS

Brendan began practicing physical therapy in 1997 after earning his degree from Utica College of Syracuse University. Shortly after graduation, he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dr. Sullivan started Empire Health & Wellness Center in 2000 and recently became credentialed as a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS). He is an Albany native who enjoys exercise, snowboarding and boxing fitness in his free time.

Gretchen Milanese – MS, PT

Gretchen received her MSPT, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, from Springfield College and earned a Certificate in Healthcare Management from SUNY Brockport. She has taken professional development coursework to enhance treatment techniques for shoulder, knee and spinal conditions. A native of Oswego, NY, Gretchen was inspired to enter the profession after spending considerable time with the athletes her father trained as a soccer coach.

Jennifer Mokay – PT, DPT

Jenn received both her Bachelor of Science degree and her DPT, Doctorate in Physical Therapy, from Ithaca College. In 2015, she took a professional development course in vestibular treatment through the American Balance Institute and is currently working toward her Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) with Evidence in Motion (EIM). Jenn is a native of Syracuse, NY and enjoys swimming, playing with her dog and watching Syracuse basketball.

Lynn Isernia, PT

Lynn received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, from Russell Sage College in 1994. She has taken professional development coursework to enhance treatment techniques for the shoulder, knee and spinal conditions. A native of Sarasota, FL, Lynn now lives in Latham, NY with her husband and her three kids. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, going to the beach and reading.

Diane Film, PT, CAFS

Diane graduated with her degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College. She has practiced over the years in various therapeutic settings including pediatrics, geriatrics, occupational health and sub-acute rehabilitation. Most recently, Diane has focused her therapy career on outpatient orthopedics with advanced courses in manual therapy through Evidence in Motion (EIM) for the spine and upper & lower extremities. Diane is also certified in Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute. She is caring and compassionate and utilizes her years of experience and expertise along with current therapy practices to meet her patient’s individual therapy needs. Diane has lived in the Capital District for over 30 years, and in her spare time enjoys serving in ministry at her church and traveling with her husband and grown children.

Office Staff

Betty is a our Office Manager and a graduate of Hunter College. Prior to joining Empire Health & Wellness Center, she was an admissions coordinator at Albany Medical College for 13 years. She enjoys gardening and trading recipes with patients and clients. Those who have attended the Member Appreciation Open Houses have enjoyed some of her delicious and nutritious food.

Jessica, Pat & Ann Marie are our Appointment Coordinators and works as a liaison with patients’ insurance companies. Their expertise helps patients to optimally utilize their insurance benefits and ensures that all necessary paperwork is submitted. This frees patients to focus on their treatments.

Judy is our Senior Appointment Coordinator. As our patient/client liaison, she works diligently to accommodate patients’ requests. She cheerfully answers the phones, schedules appointments, acquaints new patients/clients with our facility and does myriad other tasks at the front desk. Judy loves spending time with her daughter and enjoys equestrian sports.
