Our therapists are skilled practitioners with a diverse background in the field of rehabilitation. The information below details the wide variety of skills and types of services the center offers. We are committed to providing high quality personalized treatment and exceptional customer service to our patients.
Orthopedic Physical Therapy
We diagnose, manage and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system as well as rehabilitate patients after orthopedic surgery. Those who have suffered injury or disease affecting the muscles, bones, ligaments and/or tendons in the neck, spine, hip, knee, shoulder, elbow or wrist will benefit from an assessment. We help many patients avoid surgery through specialized physical therapy treatments. If surgery is planned, we do pre-surgery strengthening to speed recovery.
Manual Physical Therapy
Manual therapy is a broad term that describes a variety of hands-on techniques we use to treat soft tissues and joint structures. Hands on care have the benefit of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; and facilitating movement thereby improving function. These techniques can be especially helpful for people with chronic pain as well as both acute and chronic arthritic conditions.
We treat women for issues such as pelvic pain, pre/post-partum related conditions, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia.
Osteoporosis Prevention & Treatment
We specialize in the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis patients. Working in concert with your physician, we will design a specialized weight-bearing and resistance training program for those with this silent disease.
Vestibular Rehabilitation & Balance Training
Many people suffer from balance problems and dizziness as a result of vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), perilymph fistula, drug-induced ototoxicity, acoustic neuroma, Meniere’s disease and migrainous vertigo.
Our Vestibular Rehabilitation program is a beneficial alternative to medication. Patient education, strengthening, safety awareness, posture and balance exercise, walking exercise, and special techniques (canalith repositioning) that affect sensory and balance centers of the brain and limbs are all important components of our rehabilitation program.
Gait Training & Fall Prevention
Balance and fall prevention are of paramount importance to us. At our office, we will perform a biomechanical assessment and gait analysis. This is a professional assessment of the shape of your foot, your current footwear, your balance and the manner in which you walk and climb stairs. Then, our physical therapists can give you specific recommendations to help prevent a potentially dangerous fall.
Sports Physical Therapy & Sport Specific Training
Our therapists have extensive expertise in treating both amateur and professional athletes. Sport specific rehabilitation programs can be designed to help athletes return to action faster and perform better. Training programs can also consist of exercises to prevent injuries through advanced strength training techniques including plyometrics, power lifting and functional movements.
We work with patients who want to regain strength after cardiac surgery and their formal cardiac rehabilitation is complete. It is important that patients who have had some type of cardiac surgery be closely supervised as they begin a regular exercise routine. As physical therapists, we can address the heart and lung problems as well as the muscle problems that may be concurrently present.
Pediatric Physical Therapy
We can assist with treatment for children that suffer from cerebral palsy, developmental disorders, neurological disorders, and/or orthopedic problems. Our Nintendo Wii® interactive games can be successfully integrated into your childs’ treatment.
